Obituary: 

Betty Jean Schmitt, 78 of Cabool, MO passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Kabul Nursing Home.  She was born on December 16, 1933 in Jefferson County, Missouri to Frona Belle (Camden) Parker and Levi David Parker and spent her childhood in Elvins, Missouri.                                                

Betty married Raymond Schmitt in 1956, and together they spent three years in Frankfurt, Germany, an experience Betty considered a highlight of her life. During her working years, Betty made sports equipment in a plastics factory and later worked as a certified nurse aide. She retired to Cabool and enjoyed life at Pineview Heights Senior Apartments, becoming a regular at the weekly bingo nights. She treasured her friendship with Anna Mae Sain.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Denver Parker and sisters Gerean Szatko, Lucy Wells, June Barbee, Wanda Jandt, Doris Stegall and Glenda Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Ella Rich and her husband, Steve; granddaughter, Morgan Rich; brother, Harold Parker of Faribault, MN; sister, Anita Moore and husband, Carroll of Pevely, MO; brother, Jimmy Parker and wife, Helen of Fayette, MO; brother, Danny Parker of Flat River, MO and sister, Carolyn Lacy of Hollister, MO.
