Obituary:

Adelle Goodner, 83, of Cabool, went to meet Jesus on December 25, 2012 in Springfield, Missouri.

She was born on July 11, 1929 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Elmore and Edna (Holman) McPherson. She was very close to her three brothers, Edwin, John, and George McPherson, all of whom have preceded her in death.

While singing in the church choir, Adelle met the love of her life, Lee Goodner, in Gulfport Mississippi. They were married on April 30, 1955 and had 53 years of happiness together before Lee's passing in 2008. They lived in Gulfport Mississippi, San Antonio Texas, Wappingers Falls New York, and San Jose California before making their home in Cabool Missouri in 1990.

Adelle became a Christian at a young age and loved Jesus with all of her heart. She was a member of Cabool Christian Church for 22 years.

Adelle was a devoted wife and mother of 6 children. Her heart and home were always open to children; many besides her own have considered her their mother or grandmother. She had a special love for babies and young children, and spent several years teaching preschool.

Adelle had many hobbies over the years. She loved to travel with Lee, driving all across the country. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting and crocheting. Many people have been the happy recipients of her handmade gifts.

Adelle is survived by five children, Blaine Goodner, Audrey Jean Smith, Judy Chol, Sylvia Bachelor, and Alicia Ramos. She was dearly loved by her nine grandchildren, Stanley Goodner, Suzanne Goodner, Steven Goodner, Robert Chance (deceased), Michael Carlson, Nathaniel Bachelor, Colleen Pabarcus, Evin Ramos and Eden Ramos; five great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Adelle made friends wherever she went. She never met a stranger, as she truly loved everyone she encountered. She was a sweet, caring lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
