Obituary:

Alexander Holt Williamson, (referred to as "Alex", "Allie" or "Al" by friends and family), 33 yrs., was born on Sunday, July 19, 1987 to Kenton Lee Williamson and Regina Faye (Sponsler) Williamson in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020 near Cabool.

Growing up and living in Cabool most of his life, Alex was well-known for his fun outlook, hilariously unique sense of humor, strong compassion for others, God-given musical talents, generous heart and love for family—especially his two daughters. Although taken too soon, Alex made his life meaningful through helping others enjoy theirs. He was quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and had the remarkable gift of accepting people for exactly who they were. If unable to help through words of encouragement, a few chords and a guitar were all he needed to make people feel loved and special.

He had a beautiful life, gaining amazing experiences along the way. He often surprised family by taking last minute trips to visit friends or hitting the road to sing and play at weddings. He obtained an Associates Degree from Missouri State University, West Plains, while working full time in the Cabool area. Later he began working as a derrick hand for different oil companies. Alex was known as a rough, tough, good ole' country boy who earned the respect of fellow co-workers through skillful hard work, never letting the dirt or grease seep into the pride of his hard-working soul.

Hard work and love for family were the two strong values that kept Alex going. He had been laid off from the oil field the last seven months due to a drop in oil prices from the COVID-19 pandemic but kept himself busy by helping care for daughters Olivia (almost 3 yrs.) and Victoria (7 mo.). He was DETERMINED to keep Olivia protected from exposure to COVID since her little immune system is already compromised. He kept her rather than sending her to daycare when Olivia's mother, Kelly, worked. The two drove around, ran errands, laughed, worked, played music, sang, danced and visited family and friends together. Alex was so excited after Olivia's last appointment with the ear specialist because staff told him her progress is off the charts due to parental dedication. The void of his loss will be unfillable.

Alex's legacy continues through daughters Olivia Paige and Victoria Gray. He is survived by Kelly Bressie Williamson (mother of Olivia) and Kasey Elliot (mother of Victoria); Alex's mother, Regina Sponsler (Williamson); brother Andrew (Drew) Lee Williamson and his child Scarlett Grace, 5 yrs.; Drew's girlfriend, Amanda Simpler; brother Ethan Stuart and his wife Lorena Stuart; sister Elizabeth Stuart; maternal grandmother Vanetta Woods Sponsler; maternal aunt Melissa Sponsler Clark and her husband Brian Clark; cousin Tara Bennett Anderson, her husband Tim Anderson and their son Conrad James; Alex's father and step-mother, Kenton and Paula Williamson; step-brother Nathan Leming and his wife Brandy and their children Chloey, Christopher, Clara and Carver; step-sister Kara Leming Vinson and her husband Landon Vinson (children Kinnah, Myah, Bria); paternal grandmother Jean Stoddard Johnson and husband Jim Johnson; paternal grandfather Harold Williamson and wife Sharon Tate Williamson; paternal uncle, Kelly Williamson and wife Sharon (children Matt Keith, Taira Keith Jackson and Chelsey Williamson McNeley); paternal uncle Joey Williamson (children Daniel, Josie and Christopher—triplets); and paternal aunt Jill Williamson Rogers.

Alex's ashes will be spread over the graves of his beloved maternal aunt Grace Ann Sponsler and maternal grandfather, Bulas Claren Sponsler at the Bado Community Cemetery in a private, family service.
