Obituary

Basil Lane Quesenberry was born in Niangua, Missouri, on April 19, 1951, to Hoyt "Jack" and Mary Frances Quesenberry. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Cabool. Basil often spoke fondly of his childhood in Cabool and the lifelong friends he cherished there.

A member of the 1968 Cabool State Championship football team, Basil valued the deep friendships and collective accomplishments of his teammates. He was known for his giving spirit, caring nature, and occasional orneriness. He was a loyal friend who would do anything for those close to him. An avid fan of the Cabool Bulldogs and the Mizzou Tigers, Basil also loved the outdoors and hunting—passions he passed down to his son and grandson.

Basil married Martha Ann Haskett on March 10, 1973. From their 53-year union came his greatest joy, his son Dustin. In his free time over the years, his hobbies included hunting, fishing, motorcyles, sports, and he was an avid reader with an extensive book collection.

Basil is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Martha; his son, Dustin, and daughter-in-law, Jami; his cherished grandchildren, grandson Luke and granddaughter Lexa Kate; and his beloved brother, David, and sister-in-law, Kathy. He also leaves behind his special cousins and a close group of friends who were like family.

Basil will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
