Obituary:

Betty Louise Rutter, 82 of Mtn. Grove, MO departed this life on December 19, 2014 at the Kabul Nursing Home. She was born on December 6, 1932 in Mtn. Home, AR the daughter of Nevins Joe and Jesse Faye (Cody) Collins. She lived in Mtn. Home until she was 9 years old when the family moved to Mtn. Grove.

Betty worked for three years at the Brown Shoe Factory in Mtn. Grove before becoming a full time homemaker. She was united in marriage to Floyd Rutter on May 27, 1950. They lived in Whittier, CA for 7 years and in 1957 moved back to Mtn. Grove where their daughter, Annette was born.

Betty enjoyed reading and hand work, she also took great pride in her yard work and her flowers; she always had a big garden. Betty and Floyd enjoyed attending all of the school activities that Eric and Emily were involved in. They attended Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove as long as her health permitted.

In 2009, Betty was diagnosed with dementia; they then moved to the Landmark Villa in Cabool where she enjoyed music. She was crowned Valentine Queen in 2010. Her health continued to decline and in 2012 she moved to the Kabul Nursing Home.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dean, Roy and Bob Collins; three sisters, Nolene Collins, June Hopkins and Corrine Sanders and one great granddaughter, Kayden Lea Sloan. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Floyd Rutter; daughter, Annette Sloan and husband, Norris of Mtn. Grove, MO; grandchildren, Eric Sloan and wife, Kayla of Houston, MO and Emily Gariss and husband, Cody of Lamar, MO; great grandchildren, Kenzi and Stryker Sloan and Grady and Emory Gariss; brothers, Jim Collins and wife, Sheryl, Fred Collins and wife, Deanna, Larry Collins and wife, Trevia, Jack Collins and wife, Carolyn and Charles Collins and wife, Vera. As well as many other relatives. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
