Beulah "Edna" (Kelly) Wood passed on October 27, 2024, at the age of 104 years and 6 months. Edna was born April 9, 1920, at Huggins, MO, to James and Dama (Tuttle) Kelly. Edna and Alva Robert Wood were married on November 10, 1937. They lived all their married life north of Cabool near the 1884-Wood-homestead as farmers.

To this marriage four children were born. Survivors are those four children and their spouses, Eva Marie and Ted Morse, Alva Robert, Jr. and Claudia, Burl and Linda, Earl and Debbie; niece/caregiver, Linda Gebeke; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a host of great, great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and stepfather, George Lingle; seven siblings; and her husband, Alva and his parents. In those 104+ years, only one of her descendants preceded her in death (an infant great grandchild). Edna was a resident at Country Assisted Living in Mountain Grove for two and a half years before a recent illness.

Edna was a self-sufficient lady and always wanted to make sure things were done right. She made the best sausage gravy anyone ever tasted. For some years, she worked at one restaurant and made gravy for other restaurants on the same days. She made an impact everywhere she served. For many, many years, she provided care, comfort and assistance to residents and patients in the Kabul Nursing Home where she herself received care in the end.

She was a master seamstress for custom work and her lovework was her yard and flower gardens. She was a talented artist, enjoyed bowling, and refused to be idle. In addition to her bowling trophies, she and Alva collected several dance trophies in local competitions. She was a member of the Cabool Christian Church. Edna will be remembered for never leaving a stitch or a seed unsown.
