Obituary

Bill Conley, 77 of Elk Creek, MO and formerly of Mtn. Grove, MO passed away on Sept. 24, 2023 at his home. He was born on Feb. 10, 1946 in Hanford, CA the son of Byron and Opal (Hylton) Conley.

Bill grew up near Ava in Douglas County, Missouri where he attended school until moving to Illinois for work at young age. He returned to Missouri where he went to work at Mid-Am in Cabool retiring 42 years later in 2008.

Bill was united in marriage to Karen Sanders on Dec. 23, 1967 becoming a family of four with son, Doug and daughter, Katherine "Kitty" and a few short years later their son, Joe.

Bill worked many hours at DFA through out the years there but was always ready to pickup a fiddle and play old time music. He was a very talented musician, playing many different instruments; but his favorite was the fiddle.

A few years after Karen's passing in 2011, Bill met Patty Reed and they spent the next several years enjoying each others company going to the square dances, music festivals and especially "Hootin and Hollerin".

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Karen; son, Doug; brothers, Gene and Danny and a sister, Joyce Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Kitty Lane and husband, Jim of West Plains; son, Joe Conley and wife, Becky of Mansfield; companion, Patty Reed of Elk Creek; grandchildren, Alissa Davenport, Shanna Wilcoxen and husband, Kevin and Kolby Miller; great grandchildren, Cole Davenport, Clark Wilcoxen, Emma Wilcoxen and Theodore Wilcoxen; Patty's children, Shiela Reed, Dallas E. Reed and Misty Hauck; grandchildren, Harley Hauck, Hailey Hauck, Brendan Reed and Sarah Reed; his sisters, Lena Brazeal and Linda Davis and husband, Gerald all of Mansfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
