Carol Lee (Benson) LaSerre, also known as "Pixie", of Cabool, MO passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Stonecrest Healthcare Nursing Home in Viburnum, MO at the age of 58. She was born on March 29, 1953 in Flagstaff, AZ the daughter of Robert and Patsy (Covington) Benson.

Carol graduated from Fairborn High School in Fairborn, OH in 1971; shortly after graduation she joined the US Navy and served until receiving her honorable discharge in 1973. That same year she was united in marriage to Ronald LaSerre in Puerto Rico and to this union three children were born, Robert, Erica and Charlie.

Carol worked for the Arizona Power and Light Company as an executive secretary for several years while living in Phoenix, AZ. She then moved to Missouri where she worked as one of the original dispatchers for Wri/Tex 911 as long as her health permitted.

Carol was a lady known for her sense of humor. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, cross stitching and beadwork.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy N. Benson. She is survived by her father, Robert M. and stepmother, Katherine Benson; her son, Robert M. LaSerre and wife, Julie of El Paso, TX, daughters, Erica M. Clem and Lucas of Cabool, MO and Charlie E. LaSerre of Houston, MO; her sister, Barbara Ballinger and husband, Ed; her brother, Michael Benson and wife, Karen; 10 grandchildren and many friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
