Carol Sue "Susie" Mead, 56 of Cabool, MO passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016.  She was born on March 7, 1960 in Kansas City, MO the middle daughter of John and Margaret (Turner) Searcy.

Susie met her belated husband, Dean in 1984 and they were united in marriage on August 14, 1987.  They had a love that could never be described with words.  Over her lifetime, Susie owned several businesses with Dean; including car dealerships, junk yards, tree business and the towing business.

In 1999, they moved to Cabool and opened L & D Motors; they always had a love for cars and helping people get into a new vehicle.  They specialized in "Buy here, Pay here".  Susie often gave people more chances than they deserved, being both one of her strengths and weaknesses, but one of the many reasons we loved her so much.

Susie was a wonderful mom, grandma and sister.  She had a bond with them that was unbreakable.  So many memories have been made that will be forever cherished.  She was the best cook in Texas County; she kept her rolling pin on fire.  Anyone who had eaten her cooking knows she was the best of the best.

Susie had a very strong bond with God and that is what has helped her stay strong the last five months after losing her husband, Dean.  She would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return.  She was always kind to others and her laughter filled a room.  Her love of life was contagious and she was the perfect example of a wonderful woman.  Susie and Dean had an amazing marriage and an unbreakable bond of love.  They could always be found side by side, content with only the company of each other.  They took pride in their home and business and were always busy doing something.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Dean.  She is survived by her loving daughter, Christa McLaughlin and husband, Rocky; daughter, Candy Tanner and husband, John; son, Larry Mead, Jr. and wife, Dorothy; grandchildren, Joshua Tanner, Dakota Mead, Darrion McLaughlin, Joshua McLaughlin, Gracie McLaughlin and Maycie McLaughlin; great grandchildren, Colby and Corbyn Ebert and Nathan, Bryce and Zoey Tanner; two sisters, Lisa Morrison and Patricia Hogue.  Susie was a great woman and will be truly misses by all.  Words can't express how grateful and lucky we are to have had her in our lives.  "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"  Maya Angelou.

Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same.  But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
