Obituary:

Cathern Josephine Chesterfield, 89 of Cabool, MO passed away on Dec. 10, 2018 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO. She was born on Oct. 20, 1929 in Rock Springs, Nebraska the daughter of Clyde and Flora Byers. She was raised in Michigan and moved to Cabool in the early 80's.

She enjoyed attending church, bible school classes, and especially singing. She was faithful in writing letters and supporting missionaries; as well as dedicating time to the residents of the nursing home prior to becoming a resident herself. She was a member of the Cabool Second Baptist Church and attended as long as her health permitted. She was also well known for her collection of "specialty hats".

Cathern was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip Chesterfield and son, Lawrence Heikkinen. She is survived by daughters, Susan Smith, Deborah Lamb, Kathleen Radford and Priscilla Maxwell; son, Robert Chesterfield; 8 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services were held at 10:30am, Friday, December 14, 2018 at the funeral chapel with Terry Brown officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO with her husband, Philip. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
