Obituary:

Charles "Chuck" Pierce Curry Jr. 72, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away March 12, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born April 21, 1942 in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Pierce and Margaret Leota (LeVoy) Curry. He was the youngest of eight siblings. On November 22, 1963 he married Sandra Jean Lesniak. They had two children Pierre Levoy Curry and Heather Dawn Curry.

Chuck was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses along with his sister Yvonne (Bonnie) and mother on March 17, 1956. He served as a congregation elder and a full time minister with the Cabool Missouri Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was known and fondly remembered for his genuine interest and loving concern for members of his family, members of the congregation and many others who showed interest in the Bible's message. Those attending the meetings with the local congregation were often greeted by his warm smile and an affectionate embrace. He counted it a privilege to know, serve and talk to others about his loving God.

He supported his family for many years as a commercial truck driver. He had the ability to continue driving for an entire day without stopping and did so on many occasions. For example, after receiving additional training at a School for Congregation Elders in New York, he drove straight back alone to be with his family. Most of all, he enjoyed his time in the full time ministry and was proud that both of his children were able to do so as well.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Sandra, son and daughter-in-law, Pierre and Yvonne Curry of Guatemala; daughter Heather Curry; sister Jacqueline Wawryzniec; sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and William Hudson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Pierce and Margaret Leota Curry; his siblings, Emma May Rontos, Howard Amos Curry, Paul Laverne Curry, Russell Maynard Curry, Margaret Helen Curry and brother-in-law Walter Wawryniec.

Chuck will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. But his confidence and hope was in Jehovah God's Kingdom and the comforting promise of Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." We look forward to the time when the enemy, death will be brought to nothing (1 Corinthians 15:26) and the fulfillment of Psalm 37:29, "The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it."
