Obituary:

Charles Eugene "Chuck" Smith, 63 of Cabool, MO passed away on Dec. 26, 2017 after a short illness.  He was born on Sept. 10, 1954 in Nyssa, OR the son of Fred and Nellie (Davis) Smith.

In 1975, Chuck was married to Maria Harrison and to this union two children, Casey and Mandy were born.  Their marriage ended in 1983.

Chuck was united in marriage to Frieda Clinton on September 9, 1985; he embraced the role of being Dad to her son, Jeff.  Two years later their daughter, Belinda was born.

Chuck was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church in Cabool, MO.  He believed he had the best grandchildren ever and loved them dearly.  He devoted many hours to babysitting them.  He also enjoyed yard sales and spending hours at the Cabool Flea market where he once forgot Cambree and Madi in his hurry to go to a yard sale he had just heard about!

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his step-dad, Manuel Wake; sisters, Glenna, Jesse, Wilma and Edna; father-in-law, Leon Clinton and a close friend, Don Wilson.  He is survived by his wife, Frieda and granddaughters, Jazmine and Cheyenne of the home; his children and spouses, Casey and Amanda Smith of Mtn. View, MO, Jeff and Esther Clinton of Bend, OR, Mandy Smith of Cabool, MO and Belinda and Zac Gilliland of Cabool, MO; grandchildren, Chase, Jazmine, Ethan, Cheyenne, Cambree, Brice, Lucas, Gracelyn, Madison and Khloe; his sisters, Eileen Minshall, Carolyn Middleton and Barbara Collins all of Cabool, MO, Frieda and Mark Johnson of Niangua, MO and Gail and Cliff McDonald of Harrisonville, MO; mother-in-law, Della and Jerry Dennis of Drury, MO; several nieces and nephews; friends, George Busse, Rocky Davis and Denise Wilson; as well as many other friends and relatives.
