Charles (Chuck) Herbert Harmon was born February 2nd, 1934 to Herbert and Opal Dixon Harmon at their home near Tyrone, MO. He passed away after a battle with cancer on June 6th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was saved as a teenager, and had the honor of being baptized by his dad, who was the pastor of Raymondville Baptist Church. Chuck later moved his membership to Hamilton Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active, faithful member until his death. He served as the Sunday School Superintendant for many years. After the fire that destroyed the original 100 year old church house, Chuck was appointed by the church to be in charge of rebuilding, which he readily accepted. He was always ready and willing to help his church where needed.

Chuck graduated from Cabool High School in 1954, and was voted by the school as having the most pleasant smile. He lettered in football during high school. During his senior year he met the love of his life, Ileene Jarrett, and asked her out for their first date by passing a pig latin note to her in science class. They popped popcorn together in the concession stand for the basketball game and from that point on they were inseparable. They were married on Easter Sunday, April 10th, 1955, by his father, Rev. Herbert Harmon. They celebrated their 59th anniversary this April.

Chuck was drafted into the Army and left to serve on their first wedding anniversary. His basic training was at Ford Leonard Wood and he was then assigned to Fort Gordon, Georgia where he was the first instructor at the U.S. Army Southeastern Signal School for radio relay and carrier operators. Ileene was able to join him in Georgia and their first son, Max Gordon was later born in the Army hospital. As soon as he was discharged from the military, they headed home to Cabool just as fast as their little red pick-up would run. They soon moved to a farm on M Highway with Chuck resuming his work for Producers Creamery and adding dairy cows to his list of work. Chuck went on to work for Producers Creamery, which later became Mid-Am, for 42 years - never being laid off a day. In the meantime, their family was growing and two years after Max was born they were blessed with their second son, Michael Charles. Four years later, a beautiful baby girl, Judy Ileene, completed their family.

After retirement, Chuck and Ileene had many wonderful trips in their RV accompanied by their cat, Calie. They traveled in all 50 states and several foreign countries. Chuck and his son, Max took flying lessons together and both obtained their pilots license in 1992. Chuck and Ileene enjoyed taking several trips in his plane. Chuck also loved to fish and had many happy fishing trips with his grandson, Cyrus. He and his grandson Jason liked to take apart and *try* to put back motors with mostly successful results. He was very proud of his oldest grandson, Jeremy, who is serving in the Air Force going on 19 years, and arrived back from deployment to Japan a few days before Chuck's death. He loved to call his oldest granddaughter, Tera, his pet and she returned the special nickname by saying he was her pet also. His youngest granddaughter, Laila, enjoyed spending summer vacation with her grandpa and rushed in from California, where she is attending nursing school, to hover near his bed.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Ileene, two sons and their wives, Max and Lea Harmon and Mike and Linda Harmon, all of Cabool, one daughter and her husband, Judy and Shahram Yousefian of Poway, CA., He is also survived by his five grandchildren; Jeremy Harmon and wife Tabitha of Georgia, Tera Combs of Missouri, Jason Harmon and wife Catrina of Texas, and Laila and Cyrus Yousefian of California and his five great grandchildren Zane Harmon, and Trinity and Tyler Combs of Missouri, and Danika and Coleton Harmon of Georgia. Chuck also leaves behind one brother Bobby Jo Harmon and wife Bobbie of Oklahoma, and two sisters and their husbands, Marie and Franklin Pyle, and Sharon and Luther Courtney all from Missouri.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and sister as well as his mother and father-in-law, Maynard and Effie Jarrett, whom he loved very much. He will be so sadly missed by his many friends and family members.
