Obituary:

Charles J. Jacks was born on Nov. 6, 1926 in Des Plains, IL the son of Harry J. and Alice S. (Englebreckt) Jacks.  He was called home on Dec. 22, 2016; he just recently celebrated his 90 ^th birthday.  He was baptized as a young boy.

Charles served in the US Army during World War II.  He met and married his wife, Dorothy and to this union 5 children were born.  Charles was a very hard working man and worked at a variety of jobs through the years.  He enjoyed working with his father-in-law in the construction and concrete business.  He moved his family to Cabool in 1973; he worked for the City of Cabool and later on for Cabool Lease until he retired.

After retiring, Dorothy was diagnosed with MS and he took care of her for several years.  They shared almost 51 years of marriage.  He loved to golf and when he couldn't he watched it on TV.  He loved pitching horse shoes; pitching in several tournaments.

Charles health began to fail in 2009; he spent time in the Kabul Nursing Home and at Landmark Villa.  He went to live with his daughter, Judi and her husband in November of 2009.  He went on to enjoy a little over 7 years in the comfort of home where he wanted to be and where he would pass.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; two brothers; a grandson, Chris Caswell and a great grandson, Sawyer Williams.  He is survived by his sisters, Nancy and Barbara of Florida; his sons, Mike and wife, Tonya of North Carolina, Jerry and wife, Elaine of Cabool, MO and Steven and wife, Sherry of North Carolina; his daughter's, Dawn and husband, Bill Eckles of Arkansas and Judi and husband, Donald Bloomer of Cabool, MO; 17 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
