Obituary

Craig Cox, lovingly known as “CC” by his friends, was born on February 22, 1971, in Mountain View, Missouri, to Shirley and Larry Cox. He graduated from Cabool High School in 1989 and was a longtime employee of Cabool DFA, where he dedicated many years of hard work and friendship.

As a child, Craig cherished time spent with his grandfather, Herschel Martin, his cousins Carrie, Terri and Shawn and his Uncle Joe. He especially loved listening to the stories told by his Uncles Bode and Kenny—memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

In 1992, Craig married Debra Coday of Mountain Grove. Together they welcomed two children, Kayla in 1993 and Clayton in 1995. His greatest joy came in 2021 when he was promoted to “Papa Craig” with the birth of his beloved grandson and best buddy, Atlas. The two shared a special bond and could often be found enjoying time together at the local Dairy Queen.

Craig was a dreamer. He was always ready to try something new and seek out his next adventure. As the life of the party, he made sure everyone around him was having the best time. Craig would help anyone at any time and was a loyal and devoted friend to many. He will be deeply and forever missed.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his best friend, Craig Hogan; and several aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his loving children, Kayla and husband, Dillon Adams, son Clayton Cox; his grandson, Atlas Adams; two sisters, Juli and husband, John Oravec of Mountain View and Nikki and husband, Eddie Stilley of Bucyrus; three nephews, Trey Oravec, Trevor Oravec and Cody Stilley; one niece, Maycee Stilley and countless extended family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
