Dallas D. Strong, 72 of Cabool, MO passed away on the morning of February 17, 2026 at his home in Cabool surrounded by his family. He was born on July 21, 1953 in Davenport, IA the son of Bernie and Edna (Smith) Strong.
Dallas lived life on his own terms. He was quick-witted, ornery, hard working and always teasing; he had a unique way of showing he cared. Family meant everything to him, and he made sure the people he loved were always looked after.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting. Whether in the woods or checking his game cameras for deer, turkey, or the wandering bears, he enjoyed every moment of it.
He loved his grandkids in his own way — teasing, picking, and spending time together. Riding around in the Chevy, going shooting for fun, or just checking on things, those were the moments he cherished.
Dallas wasn’t sentimental, but his love for his family was steady and certain — fitting for a man with the last name Strong. He showed it by being present, making sure everyone was taken care of, and looking out for his own.
And if you were in his house, you were going to hear, “Get ya somethin’ to eat.” He might not have cooked, but he made sure Karen had everything ready so nobody left hungry. He loved his westerns, his guns, the Chiefs and time outdoors; but having his family close by was what mattered most.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacy Fines; son-in-law, Joe Easter; sisters, Helen Sears and Sandi Wake and brothers, Michael Ray Strong and Steve Strong. He is survived by his wife, Karen; his 4 children, Rachel (Keith), Keesha, Michael and Steven; grandchildren, Brandon (Heather), Dominique, Veronica, Rion and Adriene; great grandchild, Ryder; aunt, Caroline Middleton; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dallas was stubborn, funny, and dependable — the kind of man who showed up and handled what needed handling. That’s how he lived, and that’s how he will be remembered.
