David "Dave" Grant Bentley, 43 of Cabool, MO went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2020. David was born August 15, 1976 in Thornton, Colorado to Marie Adele Bentley, the youngest of five children. At the age of 2 his family moved from Colorado to Wheatland, Wyoming where he spent his childhood. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Wheatland on March 20, 1981. On May 1, 1997 David learned what life was about when his son, David Ryan was born.
David joined the Army, making some amazing lifelong friends and memories. Following the Army, he joined the WYO Air National Guard as a C130 Loadmaster and served proudly through the Iraq War Operation Enduring Freedom. He loved to tell stories of his time in the service and always said they were some the best times of his life. Following his time in the military he became a jack of all trades. Owning his own companies from building computers and trucking companies, to being a Sheriff's deputy and so many more but his greatest job and deepest pride came from being a dad.
In July of 2011, David met the love of his life, Alicia Kentner and found the family he had always longed for with her and her children Vanessa and Jordan. They wed in a beautiful ceremony on July 12, 2014 in Cheyenne, Wyoming surrounded by their family and friends. Alicia's daughter Vanessa brought the wedding to tears by saying "I'm so happy you're now my daddy".
In August of 2016 David and Alicia moved their family from Cheyenne to Cabool, Missouri where they started a new life; the Ozarks had stolen his heart while he was in flight school and both agreed this was where they wanted to raise their family and make their memories.
David's world revolved around his family, they were truly his pride and joy and he loved nothing more than to talk about his children; Vanessa's softball, kindness, and beauty. Jordan's wittiness, basketball, and his giggles. David Ryan's drive and push to be just like his dad. Oh, and do not forget his precious Jack Russell terrier pup, Sweety. With everyone he met he made sure to tell them how blessed he was and how much he loved his wife and children.
David's infectious smile drew people to him, he never met a stranger. He loved watching his children grow, play in sports, joking and laughing with Alicia, driving the UTV through the woods, playing in the rivers, wood working and relaxing around a fire pit drinking a beer. David worked for Pepsi Mid-America and loved his co-workers as well as all the people he met while traveling on the job.
David was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Julius and Gladys Oswalt; paternal grandparents, Merlin and Louise Bentley; one sister, Diana Mate and one brother, Gregory Bentley. He is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Bentley and children, Vanessa and Jordan Kentner of Cabool; David Ryan Nail of Douglas, WY; mother, Adele and husband, Art Silva of Lincoln, CA; his special aunt, Susan Barrett of Johnstown, CO; in-laws, Don Kentner of Cheyenne, WY and Eva Kentner of Quinter, KS and many nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends across the nation.
He will be dearly missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. The world has lost an amazing soul and light that can never be replaced.
