IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Earlean
Edwards
October 7, 1927 – December 29, 2020
With saddened hearts, our family must announce the passing of our Matriarch and Queen, Earlean Edwards, 93, on December 29, 2020. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 10, 1927, the only child of George and Mattie (Ellison) Slayton.
Earlean was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents (Leve and Effie Ellison) 2 husbands, a son, and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by 4 daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was visiting her family.
Earlean was born on a share croppers farm in Arkansas and moved to Massachusetts where she worked cleaning houses. She was able to save and purchase a house after her husband passed away. She remarried and moved to Wisconsin where she worked as a cleaning supervisor in a hotel. When her 2nd husband passed away, she returned to Massachusetts to be near her mother. When her health began to fail, she moved to Cabool, MO to live with her daughter, Mattie Woods. She spent her last weeks at the West Vue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Plains, MO where she received exceptional care and love.
Although we can no longer see our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, matriarch, queen, with our eyes, we will feel her in our hearts forever.
