Obituary:

Mr. Eddie "Bill" Hefner, 74 of Mtn. Grove, MO passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at his home. He was born on November 14, 1936 at Thayer, MO the son of Dewey Waldo and Henry Jo (Trimble) Hefner.

Bill was raised in Thayer and graduated from Thayer High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Creason in 1955 and to this union three children were born. They moved to Mtn. Grove in 1956 and raised their family. He worked for Link Motor Supply for a short time before starting his car sales career with Honeycutt Chevrolet in Cabool; he continued to work for the dealership as it changed to Will Motors and later to Wehr Motors until a semi-retirement in 2008. His name could not be mentioned without the car sales connection. Before and during his retirement, Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Waldo Hefner and a grandson, Adam Hefner. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home; his mother, Henry Jo Hefner Adams of Cabool; his son, Pat Hefner and wife, Sue of Cabool, MO; his daughters, Julie Carr and husband, Robert Jr. of Adrian, MO and Kelly Slayton and husband, Jake of Mtn. Grove, MO; his sister, Ann Barton of Carmichael, CA; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Holloway and husband, Justin, Nathan Carr and wife, Brandy, Sarah Highley and husband, Josh, Jeff Carr and wife, Monica, Andy Carr and wife, Bailey, Jordan Slayton and Ali Slayton; 5 great grandchildren, Ila Zoe White, Sterling Ray Holloway, Ben Highley, Addalin Carr and Brendan Carr; as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
