Edith Darlene Carmichael went to be with the Lord on Oct. 6, 2025 at the Kabul Nursing Home at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 25 days.  She was born on July 11, 1930 in Table Rock, Nebraska the daughter of Elmer and Laura Kimes.

Darlene was united in marriage to Rex Manley at a young age and to this union one daughter, Barbara was born.  Rex was killed in a car wreck early in their marriage.

On November 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Orval Carmichael at Humboldt, NE and to this union two children, a son, Roger and a daughter, Kimberly were born.  They were married for 67 years and 9 months.

Darlene spent a long time in the hospital in Omaha and walked with a limp and a cane, but this never stopped her from doing what she wanted to do.  She was always ready for a day trip or travel and did a lot of fishing.  They lived in Nebraska until September 1959 when they moved to Cabool.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orval; son, Roger; daughter, Barbara and two brothers.  Left to honor and remember her love are daughter, Kim and husband, Greg of Florida; sisters-in-law, Melva Gafford of Springfield and Mary Richards of Cabool; six grandsons; one granddaughter; seven great grandkids and one on the way in November; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
