Obituary:

Edna Marie "Eddie" Jesse, 83, God's servant, was born in Hubbard, Iowa on March 5, 1932 to Florence Vivian Kruger & Arthur Kruger, and then raised by her loving maternal grandparents, Florence & Glen Hitt in Waterloo, Iowa.

She had one brother, Glen A Kruger who preceded her in death.

On December 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Howard Gene Jesse at Osage Beach, Missouri. To this union was born three children, Gary Glenn Jesse, Diane Kay Coats and Richard Alan (Rick) Jesse. She met Jesus as her Savior and was baptized into the Baptist faith May 26, 1957.

The family moved to Cabool in 1966 and Eddie became well known for hosting her many friends, her children's friends and their entire school classes as their home became a place to build floats, sled on cold winter nights and hold dozens of slumber and yard parties.  She and her husband ran a dress shop on Main Street for a number of years, where she exacted vengeance upon unruly customers by smacking a black cardboard bat she had hanging beneath the counter.  Later she was a bookkeeper for Cabool Transport. Her humor, wit and insight still inspire five generations of friends.

She always actively supported Vacation Bible Schools and her Sunday-School class at Cabool First Baptist, the PTA, the Women's Chamber of Commerce, prayed without ceasing for her family and friends and had a love-hate relationship with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Eddie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard of Cabool; son, Gary of Buffalo; daughter, Diane and her husband, Terry of Mountain Grove; son, Rick and his wife, Rosemary of Springfield; numerous grandchildren, Sunni & husband, Jason, Ali & husband, Jeremy, Patrick, Kristi & husband, Scott, Kathi Jo & husband, Chris, and Kaleb; great-grandchildren Zach, Jill Kileigh, Brianna & husband, Jory, Broderick, Braxton, Taylor & husband, Zach, Nolan, and Logan.

Eddie shared the great love that came her way and will be greatly missed by family, friends and community.
