IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanor Joyce
Butterfield
August 20, 1921 – February 26, 2017
Eleanor Joyce Butterfield was born in Charlotte Center, NY on August 20, 1921. She passed away at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, MO on February 26, 2017.
After graduating from high school, Eleanor moved to New York City to study nutrition, before moving to Silver City, NM, where she graduated from Western New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She moved to Missouri, along with her parents, in 1956.
Eleanor held a variety of jobs over the years, including working at a ball bearing factory during World War II, a florist shop, and as an art teacher. She particularly enjoyed her time working at a health food store in Springfield, and retired to Cabool after 17 years working for Social Services of Laclede County.
Eleanor was happiest when she was baking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her son. She loved taking long walks around the farm. She also loved to read and to study many things, including health and nutrition. Her lifelong study of biblical scripture lead to her devout faith in Christ and His work at the cross for us all.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry and Christine (Christenson) Butterfield, her brother Gordon Butterfield, and her sisters, Anne Mosher and Phyllis Butterfield.
Eleanor is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Laura Mosca of Cabool: three granddaughters, Samantha and her husband, Gordon Donnalley, of Cabool, Caitlin and her husband, Chad Lee, of Panama City, FL, and Skylar Mosca of New York City, NY: and two great granddaughters, Madison and Ella Donnalley of Cabool.
