Obituary:

Elsie Lorene McKean was born on October 7, 1927 in Tyrone, MO the daughter of Elmer and Martha (Boster) Culler. She departed this life on April 18, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Elsie was saved at a young age at the Grandview Church in Tyrone and is currently a member of the Maness Memorial Baptist Church in Cabool. After graduation from grade school, Elsie worked at Ellis Store until it burned down, she then went to Peoria and then to work of Kresses for four years before coming back to Cabool. At that time she went to work for Western Light and Gas Telephone Company for 36 years.

In October 1950 Elsie married Harry Lewis and from this union one son was born, Earl Dean Lewis. In 1959 she was united in marriage to Glen McKean. Elsie enjoyed sewing and making bibs for the residents at the local nursing homes.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wanda Ray. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Glen McKean; one son, Earl (Sandy) Lewis of Fredericktown, MO; sister, Ruby Tutter of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, Laura (Andy) Michael of Fredericktown, MO, Amanda (Justin) Davis of St. Louis, MO, Kelly (Holden) Meracle of Irondale, MO, Joshua (Paige) Lewis of Sullivan, MO and McKenzie Lewis of Fredericktown, MO; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
