Ernest Gale Lockwood, 84 of Springfield, TN passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.  Gale (He hated to be called Ernest or Ernie, so went by Gale his whole life) was born on June 16, 1932 in Albany, MO the son of Ernest Christie and Anora (Nell) Lockwood.

Gale grew up in Mtn. Grove, MO and was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Johnson in 1950.  Shortly after their marriage they moved to Woodland, CA, where they started their family.  He was a member of the Elks Club, played fast pitch softball and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved to play the piano, accordion and even the trombone; all of which were self-taught.  Gale had a passion for music and son and built a vibrant church youth choir program wherever he lived.

In 1971, they made the move back to Mtn. Grove and eventually owned and operated White Market, a small grocery store, for many yars.  He later moved to the Kansas City area to work with the Missouri Department of Corrections.

His wife, Wilma Jean, passed away on December 25, 1994, but fortunately life goes on.  He was then united in marriage to Wanda Gibson on October 18, 1997; they lived for many years in Kansas City until relocating to Springfield, TN.

Gale is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; his daughter, Terry Weinheimer and husband, Bob of Fort Madison, IA; his son, Dana Lockwood and wife, Sharon of Fort Collins, CO; his step-son, Roy Gibson and wife, Tammy of Springfield, TN; his grandchildren, Tom Weinheimer, Valerie (Weinheimer) Enlow, Courtney Lockwood and Haley Lockwood and his great grandchildren, Eric Weinheimer and Daynarae Dietrich.
