Heaven called home a beautiful soul.,.,

Eugene " Pete" Loomis, 79 of Mtn. Grove, MO was born July 11, 1938 in Vanzant, MO to Otto and Jewel (Chaney) Loomis. He passed away on August 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Pete married Fay Ussery in Bryan, Ohio on October 15, 1966 and together they raised three children.  Pete worked as a foreman for 35 years for Aro Corporation in Bryan until his retirement and in 2004, Pete and Fay returned to Mountain Grove.

Pete loved to hunt, fish and go camping with his family and friends. He spent many weekends fishing in his boat on Lake Erie. He was an avid hunter, harvesting deer in Missouri and Ohio.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; two infant grandsons, Jonathan and Gabriel and a dear cousin, Wayne Bittick.  He is survived by his loving wife, Fay of the home; his daughters, Glenda Tate Summers of Mtn Grove and Sandi (Steve) Wright of Bryan, OH; his son Ric, of Bryan, OH; his brother, Lyle Loomis (Pat) of Mtn. Grove and his twin sister, Virginia (Jim) Thurman of Ava, MO. He also leaves 5 loving grandchildren, Shericia Nipper, of Cabool, MO, Timothy (Holly) Nipper of Fayetteville, AR, Amy Noel (Jon) of Ft. Wayne, lN, Jamie Nipper of Mtn. Grove, MO and Alex (Emily) Wright of Stryker, OH; two great-grandchildren, Tristin Nipper of Springfield, MO and Cassidy Nipper of Mountain Grove, MO.  He had special nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family; all who will miss him dearly.

Pete had special inside animals- Ellie, Annie, Bubby and Sylvester. Ellie helped him stay with us longer as she saved his life a few months ago by waking Fay in the night when Pete had fallen and lost his oxygen. The family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus for their care over the last year.  Pete was the best husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, co-worker and friend one could ever have. He will remain special in all our hearts forever.
