Florene Claudette Morgan, 99 1/2 of Cabool, MO passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Kabul Nursing Home. She was born on June 15, 1920 in Yelleville, AR the daughter of Austin Ealon and Hulda Elizabeth (Honeycutt) Keeter.
Florene attended grade school in Shady Grove, AR; after graduation from grade school she attended Salem High School until her junior year when she moved to Cabool and graduated with the Class of 1939. After graduation, she worked in the office of the Physics teacher and the Superintendent.
Florene met Earl Aldridge in 1939 and they were united in marriage in February of 1940; to this union three sons were born, Earl Ray, Eddie and Gary. She worked for Bauer Brothers and Brown Shoe Company for 27 years; retiring in April 1982 at the age of 62.
Florene gave her life to Jesus at the age of 11 during a revival at Shady Grove; she and her mother joined the First Baptist Church and she was privileged to serve in several leadership positions through the years. She enjoyed sewing for the community and church; she transported many young people to church, she had more riders than a taxi service. Everyone she came in contact with she was quick to share her faith and concern for people who needed the Lord. She was responsible for untold numbers of young people to learn about Jesus.
Florene was a faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended meetings as long as her health permitted. She served many offices in her chapter, including Worthy Matron in 1967 and 1988. At the time of her passing she was a member of Mansfield Chapter #76 of Mansfield, MO.
In June of 1988, she married a long time friend, Wayne Killion; he passed a year and 10 months later. She was a widow for five years before she met Lee Morgan and they were married on Sept. 10, 1994; this union would last 10 years before Lee passed in 2004.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the love and support from all the wonderful friends and for the Landmark Villa of Cabool and Hospice Compassus of Mtn. Grove for their care for Florene in her final days.
Florene was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Eddie J. Aldridge and Gary M.
