Frances (Osterbur) Yancey, 91 passed away on January 29, 2013 at the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, MO. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Champaign County, IL the daughter of John and Anna (Behrens) Osterbur. Frances spent her childhood in Ridgeville, IL and attended Onarga High School.

She attended and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL and moved to Chicago to work in a research department of Armour & Co. where she met Bob Yancey. Eventually they lived in Paxton where Bob owned the Shelby Grain Company and where she taught home economics for many years at Paxton High School. During that time, she obtained her master's degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign.

In the 1970's when financial straits threatened to cut school programs, Frances joined the county extension service in Hardin, IL; where they lived unitl she retired and they moved back to Paxton. Both she and Bob were always active members of First Lutheran Church in Paxton. In the late 1990's, health issues caused Fran and Bob to move to Cabool, MO where they could live closer to family who could care for them.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 50 years, Robert Lee Yancey who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her children; Leah (Fred) Matthias, Marla (Harry) Magiera, Janice (Armand) Daniels and Rob (Carmen Fogleman) Yancey; as well as six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother, Lewis Osterbur.

Frances was a loving wife, wonderful mother and a very caring grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
