IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Freda Unger
Ice
October 2, 1913 – September 15, 2014
Freda Lucille Unger Ice, 100 of Cabool, MO entered her heavenly home on Sept. 15, 2014 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO. Freda Lucille was born on October 2, 1913 to Benjamin and Edith Williams in Raymondville, MO. Freda grew up with two sisters, Dorothy and Opal and two brothers, Emerson and Ben Jr., all preceded her in death.
In 1929 Freda was married to Clias Marden Unger, to this union two daughters were born, Carol Sue and Patsy. Patsy married Bill Honey cut in 1950 and to them were born Michael (Marta) and Sherry.
Freda and Clias owned and operated Freda's Dress Shop on Main Street in Cabool for many years. People from all over the area became customers and friends. Freda enjoyed people and never met a stranger. The dress shop was sold when Clias's health declined. During the next years, daughter, Carol Sue passed away and then, Clias also passed away.
Several years later, Mike and Marta blessed Freda with two great grandsons, Brenten and Drew. Brenten married Nichole and Drew married Sarah. Then came really fun times when Freda became great, great Mamaw to three precious boys. Briley, who is the son of Brent and Nichole, and then, Griffin and Cooper who are the sons of Drew and Sarah. Freda was a favorite "Auntie" of all her nieces and nephews and their families. All came to see her as often as possible.
In 1982, Freda and Otis Ice were married. They spent many happy winters in Mesa, AZ and summers in Cabool. Freda became step mom to Charles (Alice) and Carol (Roy) and grandma to Everett (Pam), John (Sara), sons of Charles and Alice and also to, J.R. (Jessica) and Amy James, children of Carol and husband. She was also great grandma to eleven more great grandchildren. When Otis passed away, Freda made her home with Pat and Bill Honeycutt until the time of her death. She spent hours each day putting together puzzles, many of which hung on her bedroom walls. She also was an avid reader, especially of her Bible and devotional books. Freda was loved by many special friends and family. She will be greatly missed, but she is home with Jesus where she longed to be.
