Gary Ray Cox, 50 of Cabool, MO passed away on April 11, 2020 at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He was born on Feb. 3, 1970 in Canoga Park, CA the son of Ronald and Betty (Krenke) Cox.
Gary and his family moved to Missouri in 1979; he attended and graduated from Cabool High School with the Class of 1988 and remained a lifelong resident of Cabool. In his early years he drove a primer gray El Camino and worked at the Town & Country of Cabool. His close friends all knew him as Gary "Bob".
Gary was united in marriage to Regina Baney in 1996 and to this union one son, Paxton was born and Gary raised Regina's oldest daughter, Janelle as his own. Gary enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His passion was bicycle riding. In 1997 he purchased a Trek bike, he put hundreds of miles on it. He would ride to and from Souther Missouri Container where he was employed for many years. His favorite place to ride was on the Springfield greenways trails on the Sac River. He loved going hiking, canoeing, camping and boating. In 1999, Gary purchased a Bayliner boat and spent countless hours with family and friends at their cabin on the lake, swimming, skiing, playing frisbee and having fun.
Gary made many friends through out his life and while working at DFA in Cabool. He truly loved living life to the fullest through simple pleasure and was very likable because of his smile.
Gary is survived by his parents, Ron and Betty Cox of Cabool; his sister, Sherri Harrison of Cabool; two children, Paxton Cox and Janelle Grimm and 7 seven grandchildren, Abby, Jayden, Xander, Raelynn, Marcella, Taliea and Winston. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather and a best friend to many. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him
