Obituary:

George Louis Casper, 82 of Cabool, MO passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, August 13, 2019.  He was born on February 19, 1937 in Belgrade, NE the son of Louis D and Helen (Sanford) Casper.

George grew up on a farm in Nebraska along with his six siblings, Connie, Mary, Lanny, Paul, Linda and Margaret.  He attended the University of Nebraska until he followed his parents move to Britt, IA to continue to help with the family farm.  He was a die-hard Cornhusker fan and very proud to have attended college there.

Upon the family's move to Iowa he met Judy Hughes and they were united in marriage  on November 26, 1960 in Kanawha, IA; they would have been celebrating 59 years of marriage this coming fall.  They had a few moves during this time while raising their own family of five children while continuing the farming way of life.  They finally landed in Cabool, MO in December of 1979; where George continued his dairy farm.

George always had horses, but the Missouri Fox Trotter became his all-time favorite breed.  He spent countless hours promoting and advocating for the safe and humane treatment of these magnificent animals.  He became a certified judge, DQP, saddle club president and board member of the MFTHBA.  George always loved helping the youth program and made some very special friends along the way.  Deanna and Dallee Porter who helped George in so many ways to continue to ride and show.  His favorite horse, Romeo, will surely miss his presence as all of the MO Fox Trotting association will as well.

George was also a very supportive father and grandfather when it came to cheering on his kids or grandkids at sporting events.  He especially loved to attend as many basketball games he could get to.  He was proud of each and everyone of his grandkids whether it was academics, music or sport related.  he was a kind, intelligent, articulate, charismatic story telling man that had a great sense of humor and will be truly missed by all those who were fortunate to have loved him.  There will never be another like him, he was one of a kind.

George was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Glenn and Luella Hughes; brother, Lanny; grandson, David Lee Casper, Jr and a niece, Michelle Thompson.  He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; five children, David, Jeff (Karin), Bert, Rhonda Farmer (Bumper) and Christopher (Jennifer); many grandkids, great grandkids; brother, Paul; sisters, Connie, Mary, Linda and Margaret; brother and sister in-laws and many special nieces and nephews.
