Gerald “Jerry” Max Scott, 77 of Douglas County, MO passed away surrounded by family on Dec. 27, 2025. He was born in Mtn. Grove, MO on Nov. 21, 1948 the son of Jim and Betty Scott.

Jerry grew up in Kansas and Mtn. Grove; after graduating high school he joined the US Army and served in the Vietnam War and later as a civilian contractor in the Iraq War. After his time in the military, he worked on the family farm and then began his 44 year long career as a truck driver.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, hunting and teaching hunter safety. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Scott and Betty Bales; siblings, Kenny Scott, Don Scott, Ron Scott and Marie McGaughey and his granddaughter, Brittany Scott. He is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Scott; son, Jimmie (Jennifer) Scott; daughter, Bethany (Brian) Cashman; daughter, Brenda (Russell) Lau; son, David Moore; 8 grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
