Glenda Lou (Tate) Summers, 67 of Mtn. Grove, MO departed this Earth on January 24, 2020 in Springfield, MO surrounded by her family after a lengthy, hard fought illness. She was born on August 12, 1952 to Claude Tate and Fay Ussery Loomis in Mtn. Grove, MO.
Glenda was a quality control inspector at Spangler Candy Company in Bryan, OH until she moved back to Missouri to care for aging family members. Glenda had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden and plants. She enjoyed music festivals, card playing and Nascar races in her younger days. She took pleasure in cooking for her family and
friends. She had an open heart and welcomed anyone into her home with unconditional love.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Claude Tate, her stepfather, Pete Loomis, a son-in-law, Randy Parsons, a sister, Patricia Tate and two infant nephews, Jonathan and Gabriel. She is survived by her loving mother, Fay Loomis of Mountain Grove, MO; her three devoted children, Shericia Lynn Nipper of Cabool, MO, Timothy Noel Nipper (Holly) of Springdale, AR and Jamison Shaun (Laurie) of Mountain Grove, MO; two grandchildren, Tristin Taylor Tate Nipper of Springfield, MO and Cassidy Lydia Nicole (David) Ratterree of Mountain Grove, MO. She also was blessed in 2018 with her great grandson, Jayce Matthew Ratterree; two sisters, Sandi (Steve)Wright of Bryan, OH and Cheryl (Meno) Garza also of Bryan, OH; a brother, Ricky Joe Loomis of Bryan, OH; nieces and nephews, Amy (Jon) Noel, Danielle Davis, Alex (Emily) Wright and Chelsea Davis; great nieces and nephews, Jay, Neveah, Mason and Amelia; as well as dear friends and cousins that she cherished in Ohio and Missouri.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, MO who have been caretakers and friends over the last year.
Those who knew Glenda recognized her incredible strength, love and spirit for life. Our mother was the pillar of support for all that were in her life and we will cherish her in our hearts forever. God carried our loved one to her heavenly home.
