Obituary:
Grace Ann Sponsler, affectionately known as "Gracie" by family and friends was born April 20, 1964 in Springfield, Missouri and died on Wednesday July 28, 2010 at the age of 46.
Grace attended 13 years of education at Cabool Schools and graduated in 1982. Music, especially singing was an early passion and she excelled in this area. Many people are unaware she was offered a full vocal music scholarship from Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri after graduation. However, Grace chose to decline the award because of another passion--her family. She decided to stay close to home and worked with her father at Cabool State Bank for fifteen years. In her banking career she became very adept at working with computers and software and was offered employment by the president of one of the software companies. But nothing could steal Gracie away from her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and aunt. She adored her five nieces and nephews as they did her.
Family was the love and focus of Gracie's life and not limited by biological factors. Grace loved her friends, considering them also family. She played many roles in each life she touched and made herself available to the needs of others ahead of her own. For the last several years Grace's best friend became her mother who was a constant companion.
Frequent comments about Grace are very similar in nature and consist of her being the most kind, loving, caring and giving person they've know. Grace continues to meet this description even in death. She signed up as an organ donor in the year 2000 and agreed to share what she had with others. Someone will again have the glorious gift of sight through those beautiful blue eyes.
Grace was preceded in death by her father, Bulas; grandparents, Paul and Mearl Sponsler, grandmother, Freda Fay Chaney Woods and Olen and Lenore Woods. She is survived by her mother, Vanetta; sisters Regina Williamson and Melissa Aufner; nieces, Tara Anderson and her husband, Tim and Elizabeth Stuart and nephews Andrew Williamson, Alex Williamson and Ethan Stuart.
