A celebration of his life is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2015 at the home.

Obituary:

Harvey Leon Hendrix, 68, of Cabool, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 23, 1947, in East Prairie, Mo. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving his country with honor for 20 years.

Leon met Annette Leistikow on June 14, 1976, and the couple was married on June 28, 1976, forming a blended family of five boys and two girls. They recently celebrated their 39 ^th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; seven children, Renee and Steve Shannon, of Cabool, Melodi and Robert Prescott, of East Peoria, Ill., Jason and Susan Hendrix, of Madison, Wisc., Wiley Sean and Karrie Hendrix, of Nixa, Mo., Kevin and Desiree Hendrix, of Theodore, N.M., Chris and Annette Leistikow, of Bartonville, Ill., and Michael and Jenifer Leistikow, of Theodore, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
