Obituary:

Gail Brown, of Cabool, MO departed this life on Friday, February 03, 2012 at the age of 60 years and 5 days young at her home after beating her battle with cancer, pneumonia and heart problems. She was born on January 29, 1952 in Clayton, MO the second of four children of Billie Ray and Opal Juanita (White) Combs.

Gail enlisted in the US Navy in 1981; where she would serve for four years at the Pentagon in the Budget and Analysis Department. She also received some college courses while in the service. She received her honorable discharge in 1985 as a Yeoman 3 rd Class and returned home where she worked as a barmaid then El Rancho Truck Stop, the Dept of Motor Vehicles, manager of a local telemarketing agency and finally All-Star Gas before her retirement in 1997.

Gail was united in marriage to Jim Brown on May 30, 1998. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and rededicated her life at the Elk Creek Baptist Church where she was a long time member and Sunday school teacher. She had a good sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand and open ears.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dale Combs and a sister, Janice Vaughn. She is survived by her husband, Jim Brown of the home; her son, Dale Combs and wife, Valerie and step grandson, Dominic of Cabool, MO; granddaughter, Justice Combs of the home; grandchildren, Trenton and Ashlyn Combs of Alton, MO; stepson, Andrew Brown and wife, Barb of St. James, MO; step daughter, Vicki Nettles and husband, Craig and their three children of Bolivar, MO; one great grandchild of Bolivar, MO that she seen for the first time just 3 weeks ago; her sister, Debbie Aldridge of Cabool, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
