Obituary:

Helen Marie Donaway, 95 of Cabool, MO passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday night, March 29, 2017.  In the last few years she had suffered from Alzheimer's disease and for the last months she had resided at the Kabul Nursing Home.

Helen was born on April 20, 1921 in Bettendorf, IA the sixth of seven children born to Zuzi and Martin Mizlo.  In 1941, she married Earl Donaway and they eventually settled in Cabool, living on a farm in the Bado Community.  Mrs. Donaway was a proud member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.  She had served as a volunteer for Texas County Memorial Hospital and also for the VFW in Cabool.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her beloved granddaughter, Paula Sue Donaway Young; two sisters and four brothers.  She is survived by her children, Fred and Pauline of Cabool, Anne and John Rastorfer of Kansas City, Joe and Debbie of Kansas City, KS, Liz and Shaun Shattuck of Prescott Valley, AZ and Earl and Kay of Lakeland, FL; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews.
