Obituary:

Helen Marie Peabody, 89 of Springfield, MO and formerly of Cabool and Willow Springs passed away on August 20, 2019. She was born on April 13, 1930 the daughter of James Earl and Ruth (Evans) Sigler.

Helen attended and graduated from Cabool High School. Until retirement she worked at Angelica, worked on the farm and tended a garden, caregiver to her husband for many years. She also provided assistance for her daughter Rhonda as needed. While living on the farm for many years, she was a member of Nagle Christian Church where she played the piano. A few years after Calvin's passing, she moved to Cabool where she attended Cabool Christian Church. Five years ago as her health was declining, she moved to Springfield to be near her daughters, granddaughter and great grand children. In Springfield she attended Sycamore Baptist (Catalyst) Church with Bob and Janet.

Helen loved the Lord; she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family, friends and gran puppies. She was a great friend to everyone; loved to visit and never met a stranger. Helen always had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. She loved reading and crossword puzzles, attending church and church activities. In later years she enjoyed going to the senior center for lunch and to visit. She was a sweet lady who will be dearly missed.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; mother, Ruth Evans Hunter and step-father, Aubrey; father, James Earl Sigler; special maternal grandparents, John and Lena Evans; siblings, Dennis Hunter, Twyla June Hunter, Benny Tippins and Don Sigler. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Peabody) Burbury and husband, Bob and Rhonda (Peabody) Carter; her granddaughter, Crystal Martin; great-granddaughters, Alex and Ivy; great-grandson, Cole all of Springfield, MO; brothers, Keith Sigler, Hubert Ray Sigler, James Earl Sigler and sisters, Margaret Akers and Nancy Ford
