Helen Darlene (Stamm) Strause was born March 7th, 1940 in Sandusky, Ohio to Elnora and Alfred Stamm. She passed away at her home in Cabool, MO on May 31st, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Helen worked as a professional seamstress most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for benefits and social gatherings. She was always prepared in giving and helping others. She enjoyed fulfilling the role of "Ministry Grandma" in the Abundant Grace and Big Boy Men's Ministries. One of her favorite events was Street Church, she loved listening to the worship music and listening to the testimonies and sharing of the word of God as well as visiting with all the people. Her absence will be felt by many and she will be greatly missed.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband James A. Strause; her parents; brother, Alfred (Butchie) Stamm Jr.; sister, Mary Jean Hartman; infant son, Carl Richards and daughter, Lori (Strause) Baum. She is survived by sisters, Peggy Forney and husband, Terry of Bellevue, Ohio, Patricia Kessler and husband, Ed of Sandusky, Ohio, Diana Emery and husband, John of Mtn. Grove, MO; brother-in-law, Leo (Butch) Hartman of Bellevue, Ohio; sister-in-law, Kay Stamm of Indiana; daughters, April Polm and husband, Ken of Cabool, MO, Kelly Strause of Mansfield, MO, Gina Nuhfer of Port Clinton, Ohio, Sandra Witherspoon of Ohio and
Shelly Futch of Ohio; sons, Douglas Crowell Sr. of Fremont, Ohio, Allen Crowell and wife, Kim of Fremont, Ohio, Robert Crowell and wife, Betty of Naples, Fla, Thomas Strause and wife, Lori of Louisville, KY, Alan Strause and wife, Andrea of Castalia, Ohio, James Strause II of Cabool, MO and Tim Strause of Gibsonburg, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
