Obituary

Ian Daniel Smart, 20 of Cabool, MO left this earthly life on Feb. 7, 2022. He was born on May 31, 2001 in West Plains, MO the son of Nathan and Clarissa (Vonallmen) Smart.

Ian never met a stranger. He was always stopping to talk to others when he was out and about with family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He would take many a friend to the family ponds for hours on end. He loved his family and would often help out his great grandparents with tasks or just playing games or doing puzzles. When his grandma fell ill, he would spend his Sundays helping to care for her and his great grandma. Ian was a blessing from God; an answer to his sister's prayer because all she ever wanted was a baby sibling (sister but brother was ok). Ian was often known as one who bring home a stray, from people to animals. If he felt you didn't have something his family might have he would invite you home with him and share all he was able. Ian was his family's sunshine and blizzard all at one time with his infectious smile and twinkle in his eye, it would make you forget you were just so angry with him.

Ian had a great love of auto body and auto mechanics. He graduated from Cabool High School in 2019 and attended Ozark Technical College in Springfield, MO. He was currently working for Hutchens Industries Inc in Mansfield, MO as an AWA programmer. He was inspiring to have his own auto body shop in the future.

Ian was preceded in death by his uncle, Aaron Smart; grandmother, Melissa Vonallmen; great grandparents, W.E. (Bill) Anderson, Marion Smart, W.W. (Tex) and Olive Rose Wiederaenders and Vernie and Virginia Vonallmen and great uncles, James Vonallmen and Mike Wiederaenders. He is survived by parents, Nathan and Clarissa Smart of Cabool; brother, Matthew Smart and Tonya Nicolosi of Springfield; sister, Nicole Smart of Payson, IL; grandparents, Melvin and Kathleen Smart of Willow Springs; grandparent, Jake and Stephine Vonallmen of Cabool; great grandmother, Loretta Anderson of Cabool; uncles and aunts, Jason and Juilet Vonallmen, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Vonallmen, Adam Vonallmen, Jake and Katie Haws, Jacob Vonallmen and Michael and Emily Brawn; cousins, Allison Vonallmen, Brett and Katie Vonallmen, Forest Swisher, Natalie Swisher, Madison Vonallmen, Max Vonallmen, Josh Haws, Heidi Vonallmen, Michael Haws, Lillian Haws, Giedion Haws and Lissa Brawn as well as many other family members and friends.
