Iva "Dorlene" Morrison (Sullens), age 89, of West Plains, MO, formerly a long-time resident of Cabool, MO, passed away at NHC in West Plains on March 29, 2017.

Dorlene was born on October 1, 1927, in Humbolt, Kansas.  She graduated from Venus High School in California.

Dorlene lived nearly 30 years in Cabool before relocating to West Plains several years ago to be closer to her family.

Dorlene dedicated her life to helping others and raising her three children and then adopting four of her toddler grandchildren and raising them. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her.

She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Cabool where she served as librarian, prepared many meals, made a lot of life-long friends and served the Lord.

She was known for her unconditional love and compassion for everyone. She hugged everyone – even strangers – and always welcomed all into her home. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.  She enjoyed gospel and country music and followed some local live bands as long as she was able.  Her hobbies included cake decorating, sewing and gardening.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Dorlene is survived by her daughter Lydia Morack (husband James), adopted grandchildren Raymond Morrison (wife Sharon), Mark Morrison and Carrie Tryon; granddaughter April Cederborg (husband Mike); grandsons Travis Spencer and Bryan Lasley, 14 great grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Lydia Ann Sullens; husband Howard Morrison; daughters Arlene Lasley and Julia Spencer; adopted granddaughter Deanna Janes; siblings Verda Hart; Vergie Tompkins; Dorothy Schoening; Don Sullens and Bonnie Whittier.
