Obituary:

Jack Herbert Chaney, 81 of Mtn. Grove and Cabool, MO passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Kabul Nursing Home. He was born on March 3, 1932 in Douglas County, Missouri the son of the late James and Bertha (Smallwood) Chaney.

Jack joined the US Army in 1952 and served two tours in Korea where he was involved in the "Pork Chop Hill" and "Inchon Landing". He was very proud of his time in the Army and his service to his country. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1960, Jack returned to Mtn. Grove.

Jack was united in marriage to Faye Massey on June 4, 1966. He started working at the Producers Creamery in Cabool where he would remain until his retirement from DFA. He enjoyed his job and coworkers, who nicknamed him, "Boney". After retirement, Jack continued to stay busy with some part-time jobs and a lawn care business. He to pride in mowing and trimming his yard and always kept it immaculate. He always enjoyed getting in his truck and driving all over the country side and visiting with neighbors and friends. He attended the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Faye; three brothers, Walter, Bill and Roy and two sisters, Faye Woods and Jewell Loomis. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Letha Melton and husband, Jim, Lyle Loomis and wife, Pat, Pete Loomis and wife, Faye, Virginia Thurman and husband, Jim, Aleta Gregor and husband, Jess, Richard Woods and wife, Ann, James Woods and wife, Vicky, Vanetta Sponsler and Jim Chaney and wife, Juliana; as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews and his special buddy, Eighlan Melton.
