Obituary:

Jackie Lea Babbitt, age 87, daughter of Ira and Lizzie Ruth Babbitt, was born November 29, 1927 in Branson, CO. She departed this life on December 21, 2014 in Ozark, MO.

Jackie had a heart of gold; she would welcome her loved ones with her comforting smile, engaging laugh and legendary cooking. No one left Jackie's house without feeling loved and well fed. Her homemade cinnamon rolls, apple butter as well as chicken and dumplings were only a few of her signature treats she spoiled us with. A visit to Jackie's always led to storytelling, reminiscing, laughter and a nap. She had a great wit about her that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her cooking, loving nature and genuine presence were complimented by a work ethic that never faltered.

Jackie moved from Branson, Colorado to the Cabool, Missouri area with her family when she was a small child. As a teenager Jackie enjoyed playing the piano and singing, she could frequently be heard on the radio singing gospel on Saturdays in West Plains, MO with her cousin Frankie Branstetter. She also loved to sing in a quartet at a church. She married in 1944 and raised 4 children in Cabool. She later moved to the Springfield area in about 1976 where she lived until she passed away on December 21, 2014.

Jackie was preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Opal, Margaret and Dora and her brother, Loren. She is survived by daughters, Nelda Aldridge Loyd and husband, Ken and Margaret Aldridge Wiltscheck and Phil Skillings; sons, Garry and wife, Donna Lane Aldridge and Terry and wife, Lesley Gray Aldridge; 9 Grandchildren, Michael Loyd and wife Jennifer, Missy Loyd Brinkmann and husband John, Brian Bunch, Daeghan Wiltscheck, Amanda Aldridge, Trever Aldridge, Jessica Aldridge, Taylor Aldridge White and husband Eric, and Tyler Aldridge; 7 Great Grandchildren, Jack Brinkmann, Olyvia Brinkmann, Hannah Bunch, Brendan Bunch, Kenneth Loyd, Meghan Loyd and Ryekin Wiltscheck; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
