James Norman Doty, 86 of Cabool, MO departed this life on Dec. 25, 2023 at the Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, MO.  He was born on March 9, 1937 in Cabool, MO the son of the late James Nolan "Bill" and Erma Mae (Sweet) Doty.

Jim attended Cabool Schools and graduated with the Class of 1955; he then enlisted in the United State Marine Corps where he proudly served his country.  After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Cabool and went to work at the Mid-America Dairymen (DFA) where he would remain until retiring in 1999.

On October 8, 1960 he was united in marriage to Mildred Lou Eaton and to this union two daughters were born, Norma and Sandra.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman; spending many hours on area lakes.  There was never a fish he couldn't catch or a varmit he couldn't eliminate.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mildred; his parents and two sisters, Virginia Nelson and Phyllis Wood.  He is survived by his daughters, Norma Reeves of Birch Tree, MO and Sandra Paine and husband, Scott of Willard, MO; three grandchildren, Valerie Matheson and husband, Andrew, Tera Norman and Jeremy Harmon.
