March 26, 1945 – October 10, 2023
James "Butch" Leroy Evans was born March 26,1945 in Tulare, California and passed from this world to be with the Lord on October 10th at his home surrounded by his family.
Butch lived and worked in Corcoran, Visalia, and Dinuba, California, mostly as a truck driver for various companies. He was in a partnership with his two brother, Kenny, and Earl, in Evans Trucking.
He owned and farmed an almond orchard in Dinuba, until he took an early retirement and moved to Elk Creek in 1999.
After moving to Missouri, Butch worked for Red Top and All-Star gas companies in Cabool and Licking, and retired in 2006. He also enjoyed raising cattle and did so for 20 years. Butch loved working hard.
Beyond his professional life, Butch loved camping, western movies, being outside, driving his tractor, water fights, and ice cream. He was an active member of the church of Christ in Cabool.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Larry Evans; his mother, Sibyl Walker; one brother, Earl and one sister, Lenore. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; a sister, Betty (Ed) Cook; a brother, Kenny; 3 children, Sherrie (John) Hunt, Jim (Darcy) Evans and Aaron (Joy) Evans; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one special nephew, Larry Paredes and Veta of Corcoran, California.
