Obituary:

Jerry Douglas Darter, 56 years of age passed away on March 12, 2014 at his home in Sparta, Mo. He was born May 31, 1957, the son of Homer and Edna (Jackson) Darter at the family home in Cabool, MO. He was the youngest of eight.

Jerry attended Cabool schools and graduated in 1975. He held several jobs including three summers of working in the harvest until 1978 when fulfilled his dreams and began his trucking career. He drove up until 2010 when due to illness he had to take an early retirement. Since then he has kept in touch with his trucking buddies and friends and family. Most everybody knew him by his nickname Henry. He was always up for a good joke or laugh. He always told stories about trucking. He also enjoyed aggravating everyone and that's how he got his trucking handle agitator.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Edna and two brothers, Harold and George. He is survived by his wife, Rachelle (Shelly); his daughter, Katie and Dakota Moser who he took in and considered a son; two brothers, Hubert and wife, Myrna Darter of Cabool, MO, John Darter and wife, Rona of Sparta, MO; three sisters, Shirley Abrahamson and husband, Murrey, Dot Gaylor and Doris Darter both of Harrison, AR as well as several other family and friends.
