Jessie Mae (Patterson) Matlock, 89 of Willow Springs, MO and formerly of Cabool, MO passed over into the eternal life on Sept. 24, 2010 at the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO. She was born on Dec. 3, 1920 in Mound City, IL the first of 8 children of Jesse Daniel and Missouri (Parrot) Patterson.
Jessie Mai and her family moved to Sargent, MO in 1934 and that is where she graduated from the 8 th grade. Jessie was of the Lutheran faith. On Sept. 14, 1940 she was united in marriage to Johnny R. Matlock and to this union two children were born, John Louis and Vickie Matlock. She worked on the family farm, at the Sunnyhill Poultry Plant and finally at the Brown Shoe Company from which she retired in 1983.
Jessie Mae enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, fishing, word searches and crossword puzzles. She was fondly known as "Nanny" by many. She never met a stranger and really enjoyed to visit. She had the kindest and most gentle heart. Her great joy was her grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
Jessie Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny; her son, John L. Matlock; one infant grandson, Christopher Michael Miller; one sister, Ella Roberts; three brothers, Carle Gene, Donald Ray and Roy Samuel Patterson. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Miller; grandchildren, Bethany Miller Creech, Brandy Miller and Kevin Miller; great grandchildren, Dugan Christopher Lewis, Sha Miller, Devin Miller, Seth Miller, Izaac Miller, Shilo Miller, Derika Bunch and Samuel Miller; great great granddaughter, Brooklynn Mae Lewis; one sister, Evalena Wood; two brothers, Ben and Emmitt Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews and her good friends, Fern Miller, Francis Wilson and Mary Smith. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
