John Allen Cook, 64 of Cabool, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at his home. He was born on Sept. 29, 1949 in Cabool, MO the son of Uhlan A. and Lily L. (Sullivan) Cook.

John lived in East St. Louis when he was younger for a few years before returning to Cabool. He never met a stranger and loved to talk; he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and "giving people a hard time". John worked for Tony Courtney at Courtney Excavating for a number of years and most recently was working for David Pounds hauling milk. He could fix anything and spent a lot of his time working as a mechanic.

John was preceded in death by his father, Uhlan Cook; a sister, Alice Irene Manning; brother-n-law, Roy Manning, Jr.; uncle, Floyd Sullivan and a grandson, Cade Allen Cook. He is survived by his daughter, Pamula Sue Cook and Eric Mattis of Cabool; his mother, Lily Cook of Cabool; sisters, Linda Cantrell of Mtn. Grove, Mary Woods of Cabool and Kathy Cook of Mtn. Grove; brothers, James Cook of St. Roberts and Rick Cook of Jefferson City; grandson, Zane Mattis; aunt, Betty Taylor; uncle, Orville Sullivan; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
