IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lee C.
Hutcheson
November 7, 1929 – October 15, 2014
Lee C. Hutcheson, 84, of Cabool, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2014. Lee was born November 7, 1929, to Clifford and Ruby (Clasbey) Hutcheson in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was raised. He was baptized in 1942 and has been a lifetime member of the Christian Church.
Lee received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas School of Business in 1950. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he went to work for the Chevrolet Division of General Motors which allowed him a career pursuing his passion for automobiles. This took him to southern Illinois where he met Joyce Ann Hopkins. They were married on May 24, 1958, and enjoyed 56 wonderful years together. They were blessed with one daughter. Chevrolet transferred the family several times until his final promotion to Detroit, Michigan. Desiring to return home to Missouri, he retired near Cabool in 1985. Even then he spent several more years as Fleet Truck Manager for Honeycutt Chevrolet.
In 1995 Lee joined the Texas County Republican Central Committee eventually serving two terms as Chairman and continued to be active in the party afterwards. Lee had a strong work ethic, was always interested in learning something new, and could figure out how to fix or build just about anything. His keen mind and understated sense of humor made him fascinating and fun to talk to. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who was always there for his family and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Heather; three grandchildren, Christopher Martindale, Michael Martindale, and Elizabeth (Lily) Martindale; and several very special cousins, two of whom are Gwen Jones Starmer, Olathe, KS, and Vivian Loughead, Raytown, MO.
