Obituary:

Leona (Brown) Kirkpatrick was born on March 8, 1923 near Elk Creek, MO the third of ten children born to Allison and Ida (Skyles) Brown. She passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center in Fulton, MO at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 10 days.

Leona was united in marriage to Everett Grogan and to this union two children were born, Dale and Marie. She was then united in marriage to Ted Kirkpatrick. Leona worked most of her adult life as a restaurant cook.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted Kirkpatrick; 4 brothers, Jack, Lloyd, Bob and Wiley Brown; one sister, Joan McKee; a grandson, Pete Spurgeon; twin grandsons, Ross Edward and Jeffery Dale Grogan; and a niece, Missy Wheeler. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Crow of Fulton, MO; her son, Dale Grogan of Columbia, IL; a granddaughter, Tammy Spurgeon of Taos, MO; two grandsons, Michael and Cory Grogan of the St. Louis area; great grandchildren, Michaela and Trevor Grogan; her brother, Don Brown of Summersville, MO; three sisters, Edith Wheeler of Rogersville, MO, Doris Montgomery of Cabool, MO and Geraldine McKee of Fulton, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.
