Obituary:

Lester Leroy Knapp, 86 of Cabool, MO passed away at his home on April 7, 2020. He was born on October 3, 1933 in Sierra Madre City, CA the son of Robert "Mike" and Gladys "Mummer" (Hays) Knapp. He married Janis Mesenbrink on December 19, 1954.

Lester was a lifelong resident of Cabool, MO. He loved the farming life; caring for his cattle, fishing in his ponds, hunting for deer and morel mushrooms and floating Missouri's rivers. He usually had a pocket full of peppermints for his horses and a freezer full of coffee ice cream. Lester enjoyed barbecuing for big cookouts fo the community and for family gatherings. Most of all, he loved to be surrounded by his family, whether it was working calves together on a Saturday morning, fishing, playing cards or riding in Jeep's around the farm. He was ornery, but after giving you a hard time, he would always follow it up with a wink and a smile. He had a heart of gold, willingly sharing anything he had. He will be greatly missed.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Delmar Knapp, Chloe Dreyer and Robert Knapp. He is survived by his three sons, Andy Knapp of Cabool, MO, Mike Knapp and wife, Renae of Cabool, MO and Roy Knapp and wife, Chris of Columbia, MO; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great grandchild.
